Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

At Joylux, we believe everyone deserves access to information about their body and their health — full stop. We are committed to ensuring that joylux.com is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities, and we are continuously working to improve the experience for everyone.

Standards We Follow

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those using assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, and voice control software.

What We've Done

Steps we have taken to improve accessibility on joylux.com include:

  • Providing descriptive alt text on product and editorial images
  • Ensuring color contrast meets minimum WCAG AA ratios
  • Structuring page content with semantic HTML headings
  • Adding keyboard navigation support across interactive elements
  • Including a skip navigation link so keyboard users can bypass repeated content
  • Labeling all form fields programmatically
  • Testing with screen reader software

Known Limitations

We are aware that some areas of our site do not yet fully meet accessibility standards. The audit findings below are based on a scan of our homepage. A full-domain audit is currently pending, and we expect to identify and address additional issues as that work progresses. Known issues at this time include:

  • Some ARIA input fields are missing accessible names, which can affect screen reader users.
  • Some ARIA parent elements are missing required child elements, which may cause assistive technologies to misread page structure.
  • Some buttons are missing accessible names, making them difficult to identify for screen reader users.
  • A number of elements do not meet WCAG 2.2 AA minimum color contrast ratios, which can create difficulty for users with low vision or color blindness.
  • Some heading elements are not in the correct semantic order, which can affect navigation for screen reader and keyboard users.
  • Some images are missing alternative text or an appropriate role attribute, limiting access for blind and low-vision users.
  • One landmark element does not have a unique role or label, which may affect navigation for keyboard and assistive technology users.
  • Some links do not have discernible text, making their purpose unclear for screen reader users.
  • Some list elements are not used semantically, which may disrupt how content is read aloud by assistive technologies.
  • Some page content is not contained within landmark regions, which can make navigation harder for keyboard users.
  • One form select element is missing an accessible name, affecting users who rely on screen readers or voice control.

We are actively working to address these issues and will update this page as improvements are made.
