5 DIY Gifts to Make Your Friends This Holiday Season
As the gift-giving season approaches, you’re starting to make your list for all the special people in your life. It’s not always practical to purchase gifts for each friend, but you still want to show the women in your life how much you appreciate them.
DIY gifts are the perfect way to show your friends you care, and we put together a list of some of the best DIY gifts for women on the web. These gifts are practical, easy to make, and something your friends will remember for years to come.
Wine Cork Vase
If you have a wine cork collection, there’s no better way to put it to use than creating this rustic vase for your friend. You can create a variety of vases using different glassware found at your local thrift shop.
What you’ll need for the project:
- Rectangular or square shaped glass vase
- 40-70 wine corks per vase (no rubber corks)
- Heavy duty craft glue like E6000
- Knife for cutting corks as needed
Tile Coaster Set
How fun would it be to sit on your friends patio with your drink rested on these beautiful tile coasters? They look fancy, but you don’t need to be a skilled artist to pull them off.
What you’ll need for this project:
- 4 square tiles from your local hardware store (4.25″ x 4.25″)
- 4 pieces of scrapbook paper (3.75″ x 3.75″)
- 4 pieces of felt (3.75″ x 3.75″)
- Mod Podge
- Sponge brush
- Glue (i.e. Fabri-tac or other strong adhesive)
- Clear acrylic sealer
Bath Salt Gift Set
Self care is in and there’s no better way to help your friend relax at the end of the day than an inviting bath. You’ll only need a few simple ingredients for these bath salts and can create your friend’s favorite scent in a cinch.
What you’ll need for this project:
- Bottles with Lids
- Epsom Salts
- Rock Salt
- Baking Soda
- Essential Oils
- Optional dried flower petals
Homemade Soup Jars
It’s that time of year where we yearn for soup to warm our bodies and our hearts. Why not make it easy for your friend by giving her ready-made soup? These six recipes pack everything she needs (just add water) to create an inviting soup at the end of her busy day.
Each soup jar listed has its ingredients, and we won’t list them all out here (you can find them on the page we shared). You can dress up your jars with ribbons and handmade labels to make them extra special.
No-Sew T-Shirt Grocery Bag
A great way to reduce your carbon footprint is to make something new with something old. These no-sew bags can not only recycle your old t-shirts, but also reduce the need for plastic bags at the grocery store.
What you’ll need for this project:
- An old t-shirt
- Scissors
- Liquid stitch fabric glue
Each gift on this list can be made in bulk and completed in one afternoon. These are also great to keep around the house during the holidays for a last-minute gift.
Jayne Deibert
I have a few suggestions. First, you’ve heard from me before but I’d like an easier way to contact you.
Would it be possible for you to create the next vFit to be softer and not to have such a curve in it? It would be more comfortable to use and enjoy.
Previously I said it would be nice to have a deeper rumble vibration. Or a motor in the tip and base as Lelo does on their Elise model.
Thanks.
